Periodic Testing Of ISO Tank Containers
Tank container testing: Ensures the quality and safety of every shipment.
We perform a leak test (pneumatic) as part of the ACC (Acceptable Container Condition) inspection between each load, in addition to the necessary IMDG 212-year and 5-year checks, to ensure that every tank container is totally fit-for-purpose before receiving its next cargo.
Every one of our 40,000 tank containers benefits from our meticulous and proactive commitment to cleanliness, integrity, and safety.
Inspection, testing, cleaning, and maintenance in between uses
– EIR (Equipment Interchange Receipt): a thorough external inspection of the tank container at handover to the depot to detect and document its condition, including any damage.
– Cleaning: residue from the previous cargo is removed. Typically, the inside is pressure washed with hot water and detergent.
– Leak Test: A 1 bar pneumatic pressure test is performed on the tank shell, and the joints and fittings are soap tested to ensure their integrity.
– M&R (maintenance and repair): any broken parts are repaired or replaced.
